"I became a discussion leader because it presented a great opportunity to learn from stories that I am more unfamiliar with. As a public historian working in a museum hearing stories is a regular occurrence however, specifically hearing from veteran stories in particular has been of interest and I was glad at the opportunity to pursue more knowledge on the experience of veterans. I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting new people and hearing about experiences that actually change my understanding of the history I speak about on a daily basis."
